mersin İdmanyurdu 1 of oldest clubs of mediterranean region. club founded on 16 august 1925 mersin gençlerbirliği (english: mersin youth union) during meeting between edip buran , friends İbrahim yekta, fevzi serdengeçti, asım güler, muhip batıbeki, necati salim, lütfi resimci, sami İstanbullu, hayri güntekin, hakkı cemal Üçer, hasan tahsin, mustafa lütfi. aim provide mersin s youth activities fill spare time sports during long, hot summer days in mersin. later, club obtained license participation of other founders, namely İbrahim bigam, İhsan dağıstan, hamit abey, rauf süleymaniyeli, semih can, Ömer, cevdet türkmenli, kazım kırzade , muharrem yeğin.


the first colors of team red , white. club changed name mersin İdman yurdu in 1926, , colors changed red , dark blue. logo established 3 connected circles, center circle in red , left , right circles in dark blue.


mersin İdmanyurdu had won regional title every year since foundation until 1964, except during 1949–50 season when mersin demirspor captured title. in 1944, team won third place in turkish championship. in 1952, club inaugurated new stadium, tevfik sırrı gür stadyumu, playing opening match tied 3–3 galatasaray.


in 1957, club became sponsored Çukurova group , adopted name Çukurova İdmanyurdu. team again finished third in turkish amateur championship. Çukurova İdmanyurdu, rather well-known amateur club city of mersin , turned professional , promoted turkey s first second level league founded in 1963. Çukurova İdmanyurdu again became amateur champions of turkey in 1963. when became part of turkish second division 1 of 3 clubs came outside of major cities of İstanbul, ankara , İzmir, other clubs being adana demirspor , bursaspor.


the club in june 1966 changed name mersin İdmanyurdu after 3 seasons , became champions of turkish second division after 1966–67 season. @ end of season won chancellor cup (or prime minister s cup) defeating amateur league champions. beginning in 1967–68 season played in turkish top level division (süper lig) 7 consecutive years , 11 years in total.


after 1982–83 season, mİy relegated süper lig. played in second division until formation of one-group second level division in 2001–02. because of place in 2000–01 season automatically relegated third level formed under name of second league, category b . spent 1 season there , promoted second division (second league, category a). after 2005–06 season, relegated third division again.


in 2008, ali kahramanlı elected president of club. finished 2008–09 season in tff second league playoffs in second place , advanced second division, name tff first league, known bank asya 1. lig. after spending 2 seasons in tff first league, mİy became champions of 2010–11 bank asya 1. lig , promoted 2011–12 süper lig after being absent süper lig 28 years. championship attributed coach nurullah sağlam, took on team after 9th week during season. finished super league 12th in 2011–12 season relegated again first league after finishing 18th or last in 2012–13 season. mİy finished first league 6th , qualified promotion play-offs in 2013–14 season. beat orduspor 3–0 aggregate , 2–0 samsunspor , returned top level @ first attempt. mİy finished 2014-15 season 7th. however, next season disaster mİy due money shortage. mİy relegated second level after 2-0 defeat Çaykur rizespor match on 29 april 2016.


after city managed have 2013 mediterranean games in mersin,there urgent need build modern stadium in city.after games over,the club started use stadium league games.the stadium has capacity of 25,534 people , 1 of modern stadiums in turkey.

deep sea mining relatively new mineral retrieval process takes place on ocean floor. ocean mining sites around large areas of polymetallic nodules or active , extinct hydrothermal vents @ 1,400 – 3,700 meters below ocean s surface. vents create sulfide deposits, contain precious metals such silver, gold, copper, manganese, cobalt, , zinc. deposits mined using either hydraulic pumps or bucket systems take ore surface processed. mining operations, deep sea mining raises questions environmental damages surrounding areas because deep sea mining relatively new field, complete consequences of full-scale mining operations unknown. however, experts removal of parts of sea floor result in disturbances benthic layer, increased toxicity of water column, , sediment plumes tailings. removing parts of sea floor disturbs habitat of benthic organisms, possibly, depending on type of mining , location, causing permanent disturbances. aside direct impact of mining area, leakage, spills, , corrosion alter...
