the city of vancouver identifies 7 communities being entirely in east vancouver area: grandview-woodland, hastings-sunrise, kensington-cedar cottage, killarney, renfrew-collingwood, strathcona , victoria-fraserview. 2001 census identified 220,490 people living in these communities (approximately 40% of city s population).
