southern vectis operate bus services yarmouth bus station, small building near ferry terminal, main route being route 7 serving totland, alum bay, freshwater, newport , shalfleet yarmouth. reach yarmouth, route 7 uses pixley hill, has caused controversy amongst local residents not believe road large enough buses. controversy started former route 11 being extended serve yarmouth , using lane in september 2008.


in spring , summer, southern vectis operate open top bus called needles tour runs through freshwater bay alum bay , onto needles battery down bus , pedestrian-only road along cliff edge; returning yarmouth via totland , colwell. more athletic, yarmouth on isle of wight coastal path.


the parish once served yarmouth railway station, services newport. passenger services ended in 1953, , track has long since been removed; trackbed between yarmouth , freshwater has been converted bridleway.
