i-205 starts in tualatin, oregon, @ semi-directional t interchange i-5. i-5, highway heads east towards towns of west linn , oregon city crosses willamette river between interchanges oregon route 43 (or 43) , or 99e. in west linn, there view point exit northbound lanes, providing scenic overlook of willamette falls. in oregon city, highway curves northward, crossing clackamas river concurrent or 213 , entering town of gladstone.

or 213 splits i-205 again @ exit 13 in clackamas, , next exit north on i-205 provides access sunnyside road , clackamas town center. north of clackamas, freeway crosses portland city limits, passing through eastern portion of city, intersects i-84 , u.s. route 26 (us 26). on northern side of city, before crossing columbia river on glenn jackson bridge, i-205 has exit airport way, provides access portland international airport.

on washington side of river, i-205 serves eastern parts of city of vancouver, , has interchanges 2 freeways, state route 14 (sr 14) north of columbia, , sr 500 near vancouver mall. sr 500 interchange, i-205 curves northwest towards i-5, ends in town of salmon creek. interchange i-5 not complete, there no direct access i-5 northbound i-205 southbound, or i-205 northbound i-5 southbound. these missing movements completed via northeast 134th street, 1 exit south.
