rice major food crop , staple food of state. other important crops tobacco, mango, cotton, , sugar cane. agriculture has been chief source of income state s economy. important rivers of india, godavari, krishna flow through state, providing irrigation. apart major rivers, there small rivers tunga bhadra, bima, dindi, kinnerasani, manjeera, manair, penganga, pranahitha, peddavagu , taliperu. there many multi-state irrigation projects in development, including godavari river basin irrigation projects , nagarjuna sagar dam, world s highest masonry dam.
