the university of south alabama public, doctoral-level university in mobile, alabama, united states. school founded in 1963 , began men s basketball program in fall of 1968 under former auburn standout , alabama sports hall of fame member rex frederick.



the jags have participated in ncaa tournament 8 times record of 1–8. last tournament appearance in 2008 when lost seventh seeded, butler university 81–61 in ncaa birmingham regional first round.


the jaguars have been invited play in nit tournament 4 times , have record of 3–4 in nit.
