a broad area of low pressure formed @ tail-end of stationary front, organizing tropical depression 18:00 utc on october 28 520 mi (835 km) south-southeast of bermuda. steered west-northwest , sharply northeast ahead of approaching cold front, system intensified tropical storm shary 6 hours after formation. within environment of low wind shear, shary strengthened hurricane , attained peak winds of 75 mph (120 km/h) 00:00 utc on october 30 eye became apparent on microwave imagery. storm became increasingly asymmetric interacted front, , shary transitioned extratropical cyclone 18:00 utc day. extratropical system absorbed front 6 hours later. since shary remained south , east of bermuda, effects limited 0.54 in (13.7 mm) of rainfall , gust 35 mph (56 km/h).
