Catholicism and Eastern Christianity Immanence
according christian theology, transcendent god, cannot approached or seen in essence or being, becomes immanent in god-man jesus christ, incarnate second person of trinity. in byzantine rite theology immanence of god expressed hypostases or energies of god, in essence incomprehensible , transcendent. in catholic theology, christ , holy spirit immanently reveal themselves; god father reveals himself immanently vicariously through son , spirit, , divine nature, godhead wholly transcendent , unable comprehended.
this expressed in st. paul s letter philippians, writes:
who, although existed in form of god, did not regard equality god thing grasped,
but emptied himself, taking form of bond-servant, , being made in likeness of men.
being found in appearance man, humbled himself becoming obedient point of death, death on cross.
the holy spirit expressed immanence of god.
and holy spirit descended on him in bodily form dove. , voice came heaven: son, whom love; pleased.
the immanence of triune god celebrated in catholic church , eastern churches during liturgical calendar feast theophany of god (see feast of theophany).

in theology of karl rahner, said economic trinity immanent trinity, , immanent trinity economic trinity. say, god communicates himself humanity ( economic trinity) in divine life ( immanent trinity).
