on june 7, 2010 viewer s choice edition of raw, during main event saw cena face punk, group debuted sporting matching armbands letter n. barrett, entered ramp, led group, entered through crowd , jumped barricades, in attack on cena, punk, luke gallows, hall of famer jerry lawler, nxt host matt striker (who had joined lawler , michael cole @ ringside commentate main event), justin roberts (who raw ring announcer @ time), wwe timekeeper mark yeaton , other wwe personnel around ring.

on august 15, 2010 @ summerslam pay-per-view, nexus defeated team wwe, featuring returning bryan (who joined team wwe surprise member after nexus had injured khali on august 2 edition of raw). cena sole survivor, eliminating gabriel , barrett pinfall , submission, respectively. according jericho , edge, original plan put barrett over. however, cena asked change , defeated barrett , gabriel. jericho said bad idea, because barrett not pushed. following night, nexus invoked summerslam rematch clause , competed in 7 one-on-one matches against team wwe (except hart, replaced orton), stipulation whichever nexus member lost match exiled group. young nexus member failed defeat cena in main event. then, nexus attacked young respective finishing moves , officially exiled him nexus.
