other forms of permanent residency

india not permit dual citizenship, former indian citizens, , persons of indian origin, eligible apply overseas citizen of india (oci) card allows them live , work freely in india, apart running political office posts , occupying constitutional posts. cannot vote or buy agricultural land. spouses have no other connection india other being married or eligible oci can apply oci if have been married @ least 2 years. once marriage dissolved, oci status automatically lost spouse no connection india.
turkey allows dual citizenship, , former turkish citizens have given turkish citizenship (for example, because have naturalized in country not permit dual citizenship, such germany, austria, south korea or japan) can apply blue card (mavi kart), gives them citizens rights back, e.g. right live , work in turkey, right possess land or right inherit, not right vote.
some countries have made treaties regulating travel , access job markets (non-government/non-military-related work): citizen of eu country can live , work indefinitely in other eu countries , in iceland, liechtenstein, norway, , switzerland (and citizens of these countries can live , work in eu countries). trans-tasman travel arrangement between australia , new zealand allows citizens of 2 countries live , work in other country. citizen of gulf cooperation council (gcc) member state (bahrain, kuwait, oman, qatar, saudi arabia, , united arab emirates) can live , work in other member states.


however, voting, being voted , working public sector or national security in country, citizenship of country concerned required.


golden visa right of residency in country can attained when buying real estate minimum value or having stayed in country number of years, having job or other qualifications. golden visas has been criticized members of european parliament disfavoring concept of citizenship.
