History St Kevin's College, Melbourne







the school established in 1918 in east melbourne christian brothers. in 1932, school moved corner of st george , orrong roads, toorak. property in heyington purchased , developed playing fields. heyington property senior school campus, housing years 7 8, , years 10 through year 12, in vertical house system.


the heyington campus built in 1960, notably kearney building, visible on approach glen waverley railway line. lansell road property opened in 1972, , same year orrong road property sold. in 1982, k.c. smith building constructed middle school years on senior campus, , in 1990 pavilion opened. since opening, pavilion has flooded twice, both in 2005. ovals 1 , 2 submerged, resembling flooded school foyers in 1970s.

the cummins building refurbished in 1997, , houses creative arts precinct, includes arts, drama, music , artistic works. mccarthy building opened in 1997, housing art studios, campus library , administration block. lansell road property home glendalough campus, , in 1999 became full primary school, housing prep grade 6 students. in 1999, year 9 students moved senior campus dedicated campus named waterford in richmond. waterford resides in former vaucluse college fcj site in richmond.


in march 2006, $16 million indoor pool, gym , sports facility, wilding centre, blessed cardinal george pell , opened students.


in 2009 godfrey building opened.


in 2010, boyd egan hall opened @ glendalough , substantial floods filled school s ovals , damaged fraser tennis courts.


in 2011, work began on 3 storey 14 million dollar science wing, located adjacent heyington railway station @ end of kearney building. in 2013, kearney west building officially opened. building contains brand new science labs, chemistry labs , woodwork rooms, used senior classes. in 2014, mcmahon music centre opened @ glendalough.
