sports
a wide variety of sports offered @ kealakehe, including baseball, basketball, bowling, canoe paddling, cross country, cheerleading, football, golf, judo, riflery, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track , field, volleyball, water polo, wrestling, , many other various sports, of which, compete under big island interscholastic federation (biif). in order play sports, there requirement of minimum 2.0 gpa, passing grade in core classes, , must passing citizenship class.
between 2004 , 2012, kealakehe football team has won division biif title 7 times. boys soccer team won 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2011–2012, , 2012-2013 biif division titles. girls soccer team has won 2011-2012, , 2012-2013 biif division title. in 2011-2012 undefeated. in 2012-2013, in state championships got 7th place. in 2009, girls swim team,with 5 girls, won state championships.
academic programs
academic decathlon - 3rd in state 2 years in row
academic world quest- 1st place in 2010 hawaii island competition , 2nd place in 2011 hawaii state competition, top scoring public school in state.
national honor society
ocean bowl - 1st place in 2007 , 2nd in 2008 (team members: riley saito, emma leonard, todd yamakawa, sarah crawford, conrad sanborn, julius guiterrez) -3rd place in 2010
math league
science bowl - 2nd place in 2008 (states)
science fair - kealakehe took winning places 1-5 (2008 district); 1st, 2nd, 3rd, , 4th (2007 district); , 1st, 2nd, 3rd, , 5th (2006 district).
ap courses
in 2011-2012 school year, ap classes kealakehe high school offered ap calculus ab, ap physics b, ap chemistry, ap biology, ap u.s. history, ap literature, , ap language.
interact club
working close affiliations rotary club, kealakehe interact club has been top interact club in state of hawaii 12 years (2001–2013). every year, @ least 100 people school signs up, , top 30 active members rewarded interact camp, go kolopa state park.
relay life
in february 2008, kealakehe high school raised on $15,000. in february 2009, kealakehe high school raised $27,227.65.
graphic design
kealakehe high school received 8 awards @ recent 2008 htea fair held in honolulu s blaisdell center graphic arts , designs.
