yusuke morimoto made anw history becoming first athlete ever finish stage 3 time of 5:38.91. stefano ghisolfi completed stage 3 in same heat, beating morimoto s time finishing in 4:46.89. ryo matachi followed becoming third athlete complete stage 3 time of 5:04.67. in last run of stage 3, brian arnold became second american athlete complete stage (after kane kosugi did in sasuke 8) time of 4:39.90, fastest time of 4 finishers. arnold s finish moved usa tie team europe, forcing deciding tie-break on stage 4.

for first time in anw history, athletes competed on stage 4. travis rosen selected first competitor on anw attempt final stage , made way midoriyama s 90-foot tower 77-foot rope time of 0:35.77. however, sean mccoll beat rosen s time 3/10th of second (0:00.31), winning competition team europe became world champions of anw. rosen missed on first attempt @ hitting buzzer @ end of rope climb.

nbc announced special entitled celebrity ninja warrior red nose day aired on may 25, 2017. celebrity ninja warrior featured celebrities competing on american ninja warrior course while being coached anw favorites. course featured modified obstacles: floating steps, cannonball drop, fly wheels, block run, battering ram, , warped wall. after completing course, stephen amell, completed salmon ladder (which performed in scene on arrow) , unsuccessfully attempted new obstacle, swinging pegboard; amell s run named m&m s run of night.

for every obstacle celebrities completed, m&m s , rockefeller foundation pledged donate $5,000 red nose day.
