as student schmidt joined junge union (ju), csu youth group, in 1973. in 1976 registered member of csu. 1980-1982 chairman of ju-district association in neustadt-an-der-aisch. in 1982 named chair of ju-regional association central franconia, position held until 1991. 1989 1993 schmidt member of csu-state committee, post took again in 1999. since 1999, in addition duties on csu-state committee, schmidt has been chairman of csu-district association in fuerth.


schmidt chair of csu regional working group on foreign, security , european policy. since may 2010 has served chair of regional evangelical working group of csu. in may 2011 named chair of federal evangelical working group of csu/cdu.


since 2011 schmidt has been deputy chairman of csu.


in capacity deputy csu chairman serves chief spokesman csu on foreign , security policy, on european politics. responsible relationship of csu other parties members of european people’s party caucus (christian democrats) @ european union level. manages csu international outreach israel, croatia, austria, united states of america , united kingdom of great britain , northern ireland.

deep sea mining relatively new mineral retrieval process takes place on ocean floor. ocean mining sites around large areas of polymetallic nodules or active , extinct hydrothermal vents @ 1,400 – 3,700 meters below ocean s surface. vents create sulfide deposits, contain precious metals such silver, gold, copper, manganese, cobalt, , zinc. deposits mined using either hydraulic pumps or bucket systems take ore surface processed. mining operations, deep sea mining raises questions environmental damages surrounding areas because deep sea mining relatively new field, complete consequences of full-scale mining operations unknown. however, experts removal of parts of sea floor result in disturbances benthic layer, increased toxicity of water column, , sediment plumes tailings. removing parts of sea floor disturbs habitat of benthic organisms, possibly, depending on type of mining , location, causing permanent disturbances. aside direct impact of mining area, leakage, spills, , corrosion alter...
