at time of block s launch, 4kids programmed competing 4kids tv block fox, until network nullified time leasing agreement 4kidstv on december 27, 2008, due dispute between fox , 4kids involving 4kids failure pay network time lease, , network s inability maintain guaranteed clearances block, due difficulties getting fox affiliates , stations used default carriers of block in markets fox station did not carry 4kids tv air it. cw4kids not renamed in order avert confusion , due contractual obligations feature cw name in form within block s title.


on april 27, 2010, 4kids announced rebranding of cw4kids under new name toonzai, name change took effect on august 14, 2010.


takeover saban brands , end of toonzai

on june 26, 2012, kidsco media ventures, affiliate of saban capital group, finalized bid acquire 4kids agreement cw block. on july 2, 2012, announced saban brands, via kidsco media ventures, began programming block, relaunched under name vortexx. toonzai quietly ended run on cw on august 18, 2012, after yu-gi-oh! marathon, vortexx premiering following week on august 25, 2012. of toonzai s programming, including yu-gi-oh!, yu-gi-oh! zexal, sonic x , dragon ball z kai continued air on block until september 27, 2014, when vortexx ended run.
