bounding main s first performance in europe @ festival maritim in bremen-vegesack, germany in august 2008. 1 of 4 bands usa represented @ festival between 2002 , 2009. festival maritim, started in 1999, attracts high quality, professional bands , choirs on europe , world.


while in germany festival, group performed @ other locations in netherlands , germany, notably charity performance entertain troops recovering @ landstuhl regional medical center in landstuhl, germany.


october 2008

six weeks later, group embarked upon second overseas trip, traveling netherlands liereliet festival. based in workum, festival has been entertaining authentic work songs , sailing activities since 1988.


february 2010

bounding main performed @ 29th international sailors song festival, shanties 2010 in kraków, poland. popular shanty festival has become 1 of important in world since founding in 1981.


august 2011

in august 2011 bounding main again traveled netherlands , performed @ 10th anniversary of bie daip international shanty festival in appingedam, netherlands.


august 2012

quebec, canada, site of bounding main s next tour, performed @ la fête des chants de marins in saint-jean-port-joli. festival, attracts many 20,000 visitors in year, highlights maritime culture , local heritage of saint lawrence river area.


august 2013

paimpol, in brittany, north-west france, site of bounding main s 2013 tour, performed @ festival du chants de marin de paimpol . event, in french region of brittany, brings in world-class performers points of compass. festival regularly attracts enthusiastic audiences of more 130,000 people.


august 2014

in august 2014, bounding main again traveled netherlands , performed @ bie daip international shanty festival in appingedam, netherlands. traveled germany perform @ hafenfest papenburg festival in papenburg, germany.


august/september 2016

in august/september 2016, bounding main travel netherlands perform @ bie daip international shanty festival in appingedam, netherlands. third time bounding main has performed @ festival. travel germany perform @ hafenfest papenburg festival in papenburg, germany. second appearance @ festival.

in june 2017, bounding main travel cornwall, u.k., perform @ falmouth international sea shanty festival in falmouth, cornwall, england, united kingdom. travel netherlands perform @ international folk & shanty festival in giethoorn, netherlands. first appearance bounding main @ each of these festivals.
