dunn selected dallas cowboys in fourth round (45th overall) of 1964 nfl draft , san diego chargers in third round (24th overall) of 1964 afl draft.
the cowboys drafted him safety, after having problems playing position in chicago college all-star game, head coach tom landry decided best switch him halfback. rookie, started last 2 games of season because of injuries. in 1965, started 7 games @ halfback.
atlanta falcons
the atlanta falcons selected him cowboys roster in 1966 nfl expansion draft , moved him fullback. traded baltimore colts in exchange draft choice (not exercised), before start of 1969 season.

dunn played in 5 games baltimore colts, before being waived injured on october 20, 1969, after sprained knee.
