the school established on may 6, 1861, , officially registered high school in 1867. founder rev. joseph a. willy of society of jesus (the jesuits ), controlled school till june 1935. taken on franciscan order till 6 october 1950. since 1950, has had pakistani principals belonging roman catholic archdiocese of karachi.


fr stephen raymond, diocesan priest, became first pakistani principal of alma mater in 1950. era of fr. raymond principal 1950 1974 referred old students golden era of st. patrick s. fr. raymond credited constructing cambridge building (1950), st. patrick s college (1952), teachers training college (1959), first school auditorium (1972). school celebrated centenary in 1962 president of pakistan, field marshal mohammad ayub khan chief guest.


st. patrick s high school 1 of few private educational institutes escaped nationalization in 1972.


to commemorate 125 years of school, pakistan post office issued special stamp in 1987.


on may 6, 2011, former students of school instituted father stephen raymond gold medal awarded top student commerce section, part of 150th anniversary of school.


history made again when sr. margaret madden became first female principal of school on 6 february 2017.

deep sea mining relatively new mineral retrieval process takes place on ocean floor. ocean mining sites around large areas of polymetallic nodules or active , extinct hydrothermal vents @ 1,400 – 3,700 meters below ocean s surface. vents create sulfide deposits, contain precious metals such silver, gold, copper, manganese, cobalt, , zinc. deposits mined using either hydraulic pumps or bucket systems take ore surface processed. mining operations, deep sea mining raises questions environmental damages surrounding areas because deep sea mining relatively new field, complete consequences of full-scale mining operations unknown. however, experts removal of parts of sea floor result in disturbances benthic layer, increased toxicity of water column, , sediment plumes tailings. removing parts of sea floor disturbs habitat of benthic organisms, possibly, depending on type of mining , location, causing permanent disturbances. aside direct impact of mining area, leakage, spills, , corrosion alter...
