in 1988, faction led minchel supported no option on national plebiscite. however, parra faction disagreed parra , formed democratic party of chile (padech), supported yes option , dissolved , became part of national renewal. on 2 february 1988, signed statement of formation of concertación, itdid not number of signatures required legalisation , disbanded electoral service on 12 september of year.

the padena emblem rectangular white flag navy blue trim, , in center of red anvil appeared.

in 1990s, 4 attempts made legalise padena again. these unsuccessful due refusal of electoral service. party failed comply legal requirements within stipulated time frame:

on 28 june 1991, declared party in formation, , registration expired on 28 january 1992.
on 17 february 1994, declared party in formation, , registration expired on 24 september 1994.
on 2 october 1997, presented servel constitution writing, returned authors on 8 october of same year.
on 13 october 1998, declared party in formation, , registration expired on 18 may 1999.
