t. oweni

taniwhasaurus oweni, type species taniwhasaurus, named hector in 1874 fossil specimen found in late campanian conway formation outcrops @ haumuri bluff, new zealand. known individual may have measured @ least 6+ meters in length, based on estimations of remains found. synonymous tylosaurus haumuriensis, named more recently, front parts of jaws.


t. antarcticus

the genus lakumasaurus described in 2002 novas et al. fossil specimen found in santa marta formation of james ross island, antarctica. when type material reexamined in 2007, james e. martin , marta fernández determined lakumasaurus junior synonym of taniwhasaurus , recombined species lakumasaurus antarcticus t. antarcticus.


t. mikasaensis

yezosaurus name given undescribed genus of prehistoric marine reptile. thought theropod dinosaur, later identified mosasaur or ichthyosaur lived in japan. type species , yezosaurus mikasaensis , coined obata , muramoto in 1977, not formally described until 2008, when species t. mikasaensis described m.w. caldwell et al (thereby making y. mikasaensis nomen nudum).
