attraction deep in africa


on 1 may 2001, blaze took place destroyed 2 roller coasters, theatre , parts of westernstadt. result of cable fire in grand-canyon-bahn caused faulty wiring. blaze caused material damage of 38 million deutsche mark (17 million usd) , 54 people injured. phantasialand reopened park 2 weeks later , invested €2 million in fire safety, equipping every building sprinkler systems.


phantasialand home mystery castle , indoor ride trade/intamin bungee drop featuring walk through haunted castle. next castle river quest , rapid river ride features lift, built hafema in 2002. replaced attractions destroyed fire 1 year before.


in 2002 winja s fear , force, 2 indoor spinning coasters built maurer söhne, built along new area called wuze town.


new season 2006 african-themed b&m inverted roller coaster called black mamba.


there four-star on-site hotel called hotel ling bao, chinese themed , opened in 2004. hotel s roof tiles imported china, , every room door hand-engraved. hotel has 2 restaurants, 1 of them - lu chi - renowned euro-asiatic cuisine, bar, pool sauna, garden area, spa , own entrance park. second (three-star) hotel called matamba opened in august 2008 in deep in africa section.


phantasialand opened ride season 2007 called talocan , suspended top spin huss maschinenfabrik. located in mexican section of park. in 2008 splash battle wakobato opened in lake in old fairytale forest. attraction highly debated amongst residents living next park, complain noise pollution.


in 2010 phantasialand opened 5 new attractions children in wuze town: baumberger irrgarten (maze), die fröhliche bienchenjagd (jump around zamperla), wolke s luftpost (magic bikes zamperla), der lustige papagei (crazy bus zamperla), , würmling express (monorail). berlin-part of park has been reworked, many berlin-themed houses, fountains , tribune shows. new in 2010 show sieben (seven) jan rouven.


in 2011 phantasialand opened 2 new attractions: maus au chocolat , etf dark ride in alt berlin , chair-swing on kaisersplatz. old shop in berlin replaced new funhouse-attraction called verrücktes hotel tartüff , built park s engineers , opened in 2012.


for 2013, phantasialand had been building new log flume-style attraction replaces 2 old water attractions did not pass tÜv safety inspection due age. embedded in large area of canyons , mountains, miniature model on display in park had revealed during time of constructing ride. chiapas opened park visitors ride on 1 april 2014.


after winter season 2013–14. silver city (a western theme town) , dark ride silbermine removed allow construction begin on park s 2016 launched roller coaster, taron , new theme area klugheim become part of mystery area. roller coaster named raik located in klugheim area, , more family friendly likes of taron. coaster vekoma family boomerang model attraction.
