six versions of le mans have been produced, designated: le mans, le mans mk ii, le mans mk iii, lemans mk iv, le mans mk v , v11 le mans. le mans, ii , iii 850 cc, iv , v 1,000 cc , v11 le mans 1,064 cc. first 2 models had rounded air-cooling fins on barrels while latter have squared fins (known round-fin , square-fin ). models have shaft drive. models use 36 mm or 40 mm dell orto carburettors late model v11 le mans fuel injected. machines in series highly regarded styling , performance.

moto guzzi introduced california models in 1972, based on model sold los angeles police department – combining european performance , maneuverability coupled american styling. california remained popular throughout 1980s , 1990s , remains in moto guzzi range california vintage.
