overview
features
optiplant’s features include 3d parametric modeling of equipment , structures, 3d interference-free auto-routing of pipe, tray, , conduit, automated engineering analysis stress, , hydraulics.
modeling
optiplant provides multiple methods model 3d equipment , structures. there library of pre-defined equipment , structures pick , place approach. or users can load dimensional data through excel files automated 3d modeling. plot-plan layout rules or equipment layout rules enable user check spacing between objects modeled in optiplant confirmation against project’s safety , maintenance standards or against pip spacing standards.
auto routing
many companies have attempted development of automatic routing technology piping , other commodities. 1 of approaches followed vector shooting or definitions of pre-defined paths supported rules had entered user. approach processes limits usage specific types of facilities , requires huge amount of time user build in rules. benefits of automation not realized because user has spent time rules. final results approach have not shown high levels of accuracy.
another approach followed generate-and-test approaches trial route generated , tested satisfaction of constraints. leads unpredictable results each route has validated.
optiplant’s approach leveraged full space search using robotics-based algorithm stanford university. approach employs a* search algorithm embedded constraint knowledge find best sequence of nodes between start , end of route. a* search used algorithm path finding , recognized performance , accuracy. uses best-first search , finds least least cost path given initial node goal node. traverses graph follow path of lowest total cost or distance. leverages knowledge plus heuristic cost function of each node. embedded constraints spans data related engineering of system, spatial , mechanical requirements , overall cost of final result. therefore, results highly accurate, , algorithm can applied in types of industrial facilities offshore, onshore, chemical, , power facilities.
interoperability
optiplant provides extended interface capability in form of data exchange format (dxf), can read input major third party software. enables objects created in optiplant used in other visualization packages autocad, microstation,autoplant, smartplant p&id,s3d, navisworks, pdms (software) etc. output in dxf format intelligent output carrying line ids, equipment ids , colors well. optiplant generates iso 15926 compliant xml files equipment, structures, , piping.
