members

the george street co-op wholly owned membership. twice per year, membership meeting convened, co-op s board of directors , interested members present, discuss overall policies , directions. board proxy, membership steers george street co-op policy.

all george street co-op members receive discount on retail items purchased in co-op store. in addition, members may choose labor in store, in return receive additional discounts. member works 2 hours per month receives 8% discount, member works 8 hours per month receives 15% discount, , member works 24 scheduled in-store hours per month receives 25% discount. non-working member receives 2% discount.

board of directors

the board of directors consists of 12 members, elected three-year terms vote of co-op membership. board makes policy , strategy decisions, selects store management, , (subject approval membership vote) makes amendments co-op bylaws. board meets on second monday of each month.

committees

the board runs number of standing committees, dedicated various priorities such finance, membership, orientation, outreach, , products.

staff

a small paid staff performs daily work @ store, assistance members volunteer workers.
