the emperor penguin has of breeding places concentrated in queen maud land. 4 of true antarctic seals, namely weddell seal, leopard seal, crabeater seal , ross seal, can found in king haakon vii sea off queen maud land. ross seal notably found in greatest numbers in king haakon vii sea.
the nunatak areas have scarcity of flora, limited lichen, bryophyte , algae. flowering plants not found there. norwegian polar institute has not registered occurrence of threatened or rare plants or animals in queen maud land, known ones existing in healthy populations.
