near carthage, us 66 wound through various county roads , city streets of carterville , webb city. in carthage, small segment of us 66 once ran concurrently us 71 on route 571.


i-44 enters southwest @ halltown, somewhere away us 66. reason completed rogers turnpike in oklahoma, state wished become part of us 96 (also known old route 66). unlike us 66, i-44 bypasses kansas entirely, entering missouri directly oklahoma. in order complete hookup, i-44 took on us 166 oklahoma state line southwest of joplin miller. not go on i-44 because can go on route 66 (now route 96) webb city springfield. approaching springfield, us 66 followed routes 266 , route 96.
