commercial drive (between wall e 17th avenue) 1 of vibrant areas of greater vancouver region due strong multi-ethnic , activist identities. culturally, area defined historic italian , portuguese communities, developed little italy here in 1950s. since time, immigrants latin america, asia, caribbean, middle east , elsewhere mix strong aboriginal community form dynamic neighbourhood. many residents elsewhere in city come area shopping (e.g. italian cheeses), restaurants, bars, cafés , arts.


the commercial drive area consistently ranks highly city residents many amenities, including best neighbourhood , best local microbrewery , best place eat meat , , best potential hipster hangout .
