early career (1946–1963)

skaaland debuted in 1946 arnold skaaland . though competing under real name, billed in career hailing norway. performing throughout northeastern united states, skaaland gained nickname golden boy , known small, agile wrestler relied on speed, wits, , toughness in ring rather size , strength. in late 1950s, wrestled in georgia under ring name bobby weaver.
