professional football career

following end of regular season in senior season of 2008, white offered , accepted bid senior bowl, worked out scouts @ quarterback. nfl network s mike mayock predicted white senior bowl mvp , 2nd round selection, while mel kiper, jr. selected white #5 quarterback prospect in class. white finished senior bowl going 4 of 9 passing 95 yards touchdown , 31 yards rushing on 3 rushes - totaling 126 yards touchdown. led 2 scoring drives, including 39-yard touchdown pass, en route being named 2009 senior bowl mvp.


white officially received invitation 2009 nfl combine. prior combine workouts, told reporters willing play other positions besides quarterback in nfl - although white praised workouts @ quarterback. on top of other praise, white co-winner of general motors top combine performer. on march 3, 2009, white joined nfl total access cast on nfl network. on march 12, white worked out @ pro day exclusively @ quarterback, contrary reports run routes receiver , return punts. after, white appeared in spread espn magazine s april 20 feature.

white drafted miami dolphins 44th overall pick of 2009 nfl draft. after being drafted, dolphins general manager jeff ireland stated white in competition starting quarterback job chad pennington , chad henne, while being used in wildcat formation (effectively making spread), , receiver. on august 1, 2009 dolphins agreed terms white on four-year deal worth around $4.5 million. deal included $2.4 million in guaranteed money.


in opening preseason game against jaguars, white 2/7 passing 14 yards , 1 interception (after tipped receiver). had 6 rushing attempts 20 yards.


white s first big play set in shotgun formation in week 9 against new england patriots. play option white kept himself , rushed 33 yards before being stopped.

in game against pittsburgh steelers on january 3, 2010, pat white suffered helmet helmet collision ike taylor left him unconscious , carted off field.


white released hospital next day , drove himself dolphins training facility in davie, florida participated in team meetings prior team breaking 2010 off-season. in july 2010, ricky williams said pat white improved player on team.


white waived miami on september 4, 2010.


virginia destroyers

white signed virginia destroyers of united football league on june 28, 2011. cut on september 3, 2011.


washington redskins

after not playing professional football 2 years, white agreed sign washington redskins on april 2, 2013. waived on september 14.


edmonton eskimos

white signed edmonton eskimos of cfl on march 27, 2014. in first , season in cfl white completed 5-of-9 passes 54 yards td. carried ball 159 yards on 35 carries (4.54-yard average) 4 touchdowns.
