the national defense authorization act fiscal year 2012 (senate bill 1867, section 586) contains authorization , request president award medal of honor kapaun posthumously acts of valor during battle of unsan on november 1–2, 1950, , while prisoner of war until death on may 23, 1951. president obama presented medal awarded on behalf of kapaun kapaun s nephew @ white house on april 11, 2013.
