three lgbt centers created in utah 1970s through 1990s. name of recent center, utah stonewall center, has been changed 3 times since creation in 1991 project of gay , lesbian community council of utah.

the first lgbt community center in utah gay community services center inc. in 1975 through 1979. executive directors dorothy makin , ken storer.

the gay community service center , clinic created in 1984. executive directors auntie dé , beau chainé.


utah stonewall center

the utah stonewall center created in 1991 through 1996 project of gay , lesbian community council of utah. executive directors of center craig miller, melissa sillitoe, john bennett, renee rinaldi, michael o’brien , alan ahtow.

the center renamed in 1997 through 2004 gay , lesbian community center of utah. executive directors monique predovitch, doug wortham , paula wolfe.


gay lesbian bisexual transgender community center of utah

the center renamed in 2003 gay lesbian bisexual transgender community center of utah. executive directors chad beyer , valerie a. larabee.


utah pride center

the center renamed in 2006 utah pride center. larabee resigned in 2013 center executive director after experienced struggles financial , leadership issues, , staffers assumed duties until new executive director appointed. center treasurer steven ha appointed in 2014 serve center interim executive director, , later employed 1 year center executive director. on december 12, 2014, less year after appointment, utah pride center announced resignation of steven ha due recurrence of lymphoma. marian edmonds-allen named executive director in august 2015.

deep sea mining relatively new mineral retrieval process takes place on ocean floor. ocean mining sites around large areas of polymetallic nodules or active , extinct hydrothermal vents @ 1,400 – 3,700 meters below ocean s surface. vents create sulfide deposits, contain precious metals such silver, gold, copper, manganese, cobalt, , zinc. deposits mined using either hydraulic pumps or bucket systems take ore surface processed. mining operations, deep sea mining raises questions environmental damages surrounding areas because deep sea mining relatively new field, complete consequences of full-scale mining operations unknown. however, experts removal of parts of sea floor result in disturbances benthic layer, increased toxicity of water column, , sediment plumes tailings. removing parts of sea floor disturbs habitat of benthic organisms, possibly, depending on type of mining , location, causing permanent disturbances. aside direct impact of mining area, leakage, spills, , corrosion alter...
