the green light trust environmental , educational charity mission bring communities , landscapes life through hands-on learning , growing of woodlands. trust based @ foundry in bury road.


forest our children trust s first community-owned wildspace project @ crooked wood , golden wood, lawshall. has been inspiration behind many other wildspace sites around uk , environmental education programmes schools. project includes golden wood, off bury road, new planting has taken place between 1994 , 2010.


the foundry green light trust s headquarters , training centre set in 2.5 acres of meadowland @ bury road. in 2006, foundry awarded prestigious riba sustainability award. built using deep green construction methods, carbon neutral building autonomous possible.


the foundry 1840s threshing barn transformed traction engine maintenance shed in 1880s. later became forge , foundry between 1920 , 1950. abandoned 50 years, green light trust decided breathe new life , make foundry headquarters shining example of sustainable building in east anglia. project started on 27 may 2005 , year later self-sufficient , carbon-neutral building completed. building available hire.
