during war japan

huang xianfan formed group ethnographic research in border region of guizhou-guangxi in august 1943, , worked head of group. again, in april 1945, leader formed investigative group research south guizhou border dwellers. conducted lot of academic research in ethnic areas of guizhou , guangxi. doing this, professor huang became pioneer of ethnic residence investigations.

during period of guangxi university

in june 1951, huang xianfan joined central government ethnic mission led professor fei xiaotong(huang vice leader , in guangxi sub-group of middlesouth delegation). went guangxi ethnic areas condolences , investigations. in march 1952, went students areas of duan, donglan , nandan investigation. in summer of year, went chongzuo, debao, jingxi , longluo of fusui field investigation. had collected lot of historical relics local headmen, including materials of nong zhigao s uprising , anti-qing dynasty movement led wu lingyun , son. in june 1953, huang formed historical relics investigation group cultural education bureau of people’s government of guixi zhuang nationality autonomous region in guangxi university. leader, led group members nandan, tiane, hechi, luocheng , yicheng, visited , investigated yao, maonan, miao, zhuang , mulao minorities, , collected many historical relics , materials.

guangxi normal university (jingjiang princes city) - professor huang xianfan had worked here on thirty years

in march 1954, huang went gui county make field investigation , collect zhuang ethnic s living condition , historical , revolutionary materials of huang dingfeng , taiping rebellions took place in gui county.

on 19 april 1954, under instruction of peng zhen, resolution made @ march 31st s conference, ethnic committee of npc made document of primary scheme of investigation , research work on chinese ethnics social , historical conditions in minorities areas. decided form several groups investigate chinese ethnics social , historical conditions, yunnan group led fei xiaotong, liu guanying, joined fang guoyu. sichuan group led xia kongnong, joined yang xing , hu qingjun. north-west group led feng jiasheng, joined chen yongling.guizhou group led wu zeling，joined liang oudi. guangdong , hai nan group led chen jiawu. guangxi group led huang xianfan, mo qing. xinjiang group led xinjiang working committee, joined li youyi , li youzhai. nei meng , north-east group led qiu pu , weng dujian. in same year of august professor huang took part in forming group of investigation on guangxi ethnics social history. vice group leader , head of zhuang ethnic group, responsible whole group s academic investigation work. led group making largest , deepest investigation on ethnic history , traditional culture in guangxi history. had collected lot of valuable materials , laid foundation further research on zhuang ethnic social , historical culture. important beginning later development of zhuang ethnic research , establishment of guangxi institute of ethnic studies. during 3 periods of ethnic identification work after 1949,professor fei xiaotong, huang xianfan, xia kangnong , lot of academic masters , scholars anthropology , ethnic study circles had made great contributions. upon research work of national ethnic identification state council able announce there 56 ethnics in china. pioneering contribution chinese ethnic studies. in mean time,the world ethnic study circles had noticed , gave high comments. reason ethnic study circles called professor huang founder of modern chinese ethnology.

in july 1978, huang formed field investigation team , went nongzhou, pingxiang, ningming , congzuo district. collected lot of valuable historical materials , studied mountain frescos of ningming in situ.

in november 1979, huang led field investigation team baise, tianyang, tiandong , bama districts investigate , collect historical materials.

in march 1981, went sichuan attend first national seminar on cliff coffin , made academic investigation , collect historical materials there.
