founded in 1960s shamrock junior d hockey league. in 1969, league change name western junior d hockey league , champion go on win eleven of next nineteen provincial championships. in summer of 1985, north junior d hockey league fold, leaving western league , southern counties junior d hockey league. in 1988, scjdhl fold , remaining teams joined western league. bloated nineteen teams, league continue on junior d league in ontario. in 1991, league became oha junior development league. in 2006, in attempt gain promotion junior c, league dropped reference of junior d or development , renamed southern ontario junior hockey league.

during summer of 2006, yeck conference applied break off league , start own junior c league, turned down oha. talented , entertaining league, sojhl has long-standing tradition of oha in southwestern ontario region.

the sojhl downsized extensively 2008-09 season, losing mitchell, west lorne, , central elgin. league reformatted 3 divisions.


the sojhl saw central elgin franchise return, time port stanley sailors, 2009-2010 season.


as of 2012, sojhl in talks oha future of league. 2012-13 season played @ junior c level , league folded , divided other leagues in summer of 2013.


in spring of 2013, junior c hockey in ontario had first major realignment since creation of georgian mid-ontario junior c hockey league in 1994. 27 teams between niagara & district junior c hockey league , southern ontario junior hockey league reshuffled. sojhl went 15 9 teams, gaining aylmer spitfires, losing reigning champion ayr centennials, burford bulldogs, delhi travellers, hagersville hawks, norfolk rebels, tavistock braves, , wellesley applejacks. summer niagara league divide in half, forming midwestern junior c hockey league former western division.

deep sea mining relatively new mineral retrieval process takes place on ocean floor. ocean mining sites around large areas of polymetallic nodules or active , extinct hydrothermal vents @ 1,400 – 3,700 meters below ocean s surface. vents create sulfide deposits, contain precious metals such silver, gold, copper, manganese, cobalt, , zinc. deposits mined using either hydraulic pumps or bucket systems take ore surface processed. mining operations, deep sea mining raises questions environmental damages surrounding areas because deep sea mining relatively new field, complete consequences of full-scale mining operations unknown. however, experts removal of parts of sea floor result in disturbances benthic layer, increased toxicity of water column, , sediment plumes tailings. removing parts of sea floor disturbs habitat of benthic organisms, possibly, depending on type of mining , location, causing permanent disturbances. aside direct impact of mining area, leakage, spills, , corrosion alter...
