fiddler crabs have 1 big claw , 1 small claw.
the narwhal s tusk left incisor can grow 10 feet in length , forms left-handed helix.
flatfish have evolved swim 1 side upward, , result have both eyes on 1 side of heads.
several species of owls exhibit asymmetries in size , positioning of ears, thought locate prey.
many animals (ranging insects mammals) have asymmetric male genitalia. evolutionary cause behind is, in cases, still mystery.

as indicator of unfitness

certain disturbances during development of organism, resulting in birth defects.
injuries after cell division cannot biologically repaired, such lost limb accident.

since birth defects , injuries indicate poor health of organism, defects resulting in asymmetry put animal @ disadvantage when comes finding mate. in particular, degree of facial symmetry associated physical attractiveness, complete symmetry both impossible , unattractive.
