tualatin high school s roots reach 1865, when small red school house built in village. school house went on become tualatin elementary school , location of tualatin food bank. replaced in 1900 new, two-room school on boones ferry road, still major thoroughfare in city. four-year high school program offered first time in 1909, after school hoisted , 2 more rooms added beneath. however, seven-member class of 1936 last class graduate old tualatin school. after that, students sent nearby high schools in sherwood , tigard. move further solidified in 1969, when tualatin residents voted officially join tigard school district 23j.


in 1990, following rapid growth in tualatin, name of district changed tigard-tualatin school district, signal of tualatin s emerging importance in area s academic structure. 2 years later, in 1992, new tualatin high school opened doors on 64-acre (260,000 m) campus. students area junior high schools voted on school colors , mascot.


for several years, school lacked swimming pool , auditorium, proper spectator stands state-of-the-art football field. result, many extracurricular activities, such plays , sporting events, took place on grounds of school s rival, tigard high school. corrected in summer of 1998, when school completed new sports stadium. later year, opened own auditorium , swim center.


the new t.e.c.h. wing (tualatin engineering, computers, , health) opened in spring of 2006.
